The Great 78 Project! Listen to this collection of 78rpm records and cylinder recordings released in the early 20th century. These recordings were contributed to the Archive by users through the Open Source Audio collection. Also the Internet Archive has digitized many.

Artists available here include Ada Jones, Caruso, Eddie Cantor, Edison Concert Band, Harry MacDonough, Len Spencer, Paul Whiteman, and many others.

Opened and closed the show with some 78 rpm recordings from archive.org. Vera Lynn's version of " I'm in the Mood for Love ". I wanted a dirty scratchy record. Instead it had been processed to reduce the noise. So hey! I added my own noise. And then Lizzie Miles gives us " Cotton Belt Blues " to close out the show. Yea I know it's not ambient music. A pop music radio show for people who already know plenty about pop music, hosted by Ron "Boogiemonster" Gerber and heard every Friday night from 10:30 to midnight on KFAI-FM, 90.3 FM Minneapolis, 106.7 FM St. Paul, and KFAI.org.  The show has held its current time slot since October, 2002, and expanded from 90 minutes to two hours in August, 2017.
